Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-07-12
1. Provider and acceptance
The "Travel Safety JP" service ("Service") is provided by 田淵 秀人 (Hidehito Tabuchi) ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
The Service provides multilingual emergency information and contact directories for foreign visitors in Japan (lost items, injury/illness, disasters, shelters). A paid "Travel Safety Pass" adds features such as offline mode and the medical translation card.
3. Accounts and user responsibilities
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You represent that you are of legal age or have authority to bind the organization you act for.
4. Prohibited use
You must not: use the Service unlawfully; commit fraud, impersonation, or spam; infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others; interfere with the Service's security (malware, probing, scraping, rate-limit circumvention); reverse engineer, resell, or bypass technical restrictions.
5. Intellectual property
All rights in the Service, including software, content, trademarks, and design, remain ours or our licensors'. You receive only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service within your plan.
6. Fees, subscriptions, and payments (Paddle)
Payment, billing, renewal, taxes, cancellation, and refund mechanics for paid plans (weekly pass / yearly plan) are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the selected interval unless cancelled. You can cancel through Paddle's customer portal at paddle.net or in your account settings.
7. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy and by Paddle's Refund Policy (https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy).
8. User content
You retain ownership of content you enter (e.g. medical card details). You grant us a limited license to host and process such content solely to provide the Service.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Contact numbers, opening hours, and maps are provided for reference only and are not guaranteed to be accurate or current. In a life-threatening emergency always contact official services directly (110 police, 119 fire/ambulance in Japan).
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 6 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, loss of opportunity, or any indirect, special, or consequential damages. Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by gross negligence).
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or unlawful use of the Service.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access without prior notice for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. After termination we may delete your data after a reasonable period.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the Service or by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as court of first instance over any dispute arising from the Service or these Terms.
